The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to appoint a batting coach for the national team in the long run and in three formats. Neil McKenzie was the batting coach of the Bangladesh team in limited overs. However, the post became vacant as he suddenly resigned from his post.

In addition to limited overs, Mackenzie has also worked in some Test series with the Bangladesh Test team. But he was not the regular batting coach of Bangladesh for the Test format.

McKenzie suddenly resigned as the batting coach of Bangladesh. He stepped down, saying he could not stay away from his family because of the coronavirus. That is what Cricket Operations Chairman Akram Khan said.

The BCB has already shortlisted some coaches for the post. Akram said, “Since Mackenzie stepped down as coach, we have been trying to recruit a batting coach.

” He added, “There are three or four names. We will appoint someone who will be beneficial for Bangladesh cricket.

Since there is still time, we must proceed with caution. We hope we can reach a solution soon.

But one thing is for sure, in the long run, we are thinking of an agreement with all formats. ‘

McKenzie was scheduled to arrive in Dhaka in the first week of next month to join the Bangladesh team.

But suddenly he decided to step down from the post of batting coach. Since his family is new, he does not want to

travel outside the country for family safety reasons. McKenzie first joined the Bangladesh team in the West Indies tour in 2016. He then signed with the

BCB until the 2019 World Cup. His contract was later renewed for another two years.
